Our Nursery!!!

After days of painting, it took 3 days to paint the room. One day for the yellow, one day to tape and paint the blue stripe and a third day to tape and paint the green and brown stripe. I did not want a theme and I saw the stripes in a magazine and fell in love with it. We painted it before we knew boy or girl, but I love it for either one. Thank you mom for making 2 trips down to climb the ladder all day. After furniture issues and joys, the nursery is on the road to being done. We still have bedding on the way. My Mom is making all our bedding. (Thanks Mom you are awesome) We have some pictures to hang and some baskets and a curtain, but you can see what we are doing. I am so excited. It is great. Jason just put the bed together tonight and my Dad brought the glider down today. Thank you David and Dinah for helping with the glider. Well enjoy.

Trip to see Sarah

This week my Jason sent me out to Colorado to spend a few days with my best friend Sarah. We have not seen each other since my wedding in Dec. She just found out a few weeks ago they are pregnant with their second child and due in March.
We had a wonderful time. We got pedicures and pre-natal massages. It was a wonderful trip. Her daughter Danika has gotten so big, and we had so much fun playing. It will probably be another 9 months before we see each other again, but I am so thankful for her. She is a dear friend and I thank God for blessing my life with her friendship.

Had to compare the bellies.

Baby Gift

My nephew James(my older brother's little boy) gave me this wonderful basket for the baby. He is in elementary school, and they were having an auction to raise money for his school. Each class made a themed basket and one was "Baby". He had to get it for the baby. How sweet is that. I got even more than what is in the picture, but as soon as I unwrapped it, it fell all over the place. It was great. Thank you James.

Y.E.S. Dinner

Last night we went to the Youth Encouragement Services dinner with Terry and Cary Sawyer. We were not very familiar with Y.E.S. but WOW were we impressed. They work with inner city children in the community. They have three centers in three communities. They have after school activities, tutoring and Saturday basketball leagues to name just a few. We are so glad Terry and Cary invited us. We had a great time and really want to do more with Y.E.S. in the future.
The evening was a silent auction, and dinner. There was everything to bid on. Tickets to sporting events, oil paintings, CDs, jewelry, week at a lake house, computers, dinning room furniture, and more. We bid on a few things and ended up with a gift certificate to our favorite restaurant Red Pony, and two painted canvases. It was a great night. Here are the canvases.

This one in going in the nursery.

I am still trying to pick a place for this one.

Finished!

The living room is finally finished. If you look back at earlier posts you can see the progress, but here is the final outcome. I want to add a few little things, but for the most part we are done. Yeah!! Here is the new chair is well. We really like it. We need a new coffee table or ottoman, but that will be in a few months. Enjoy the pictures.

Yes, the dogs usual spot.

I love my new chair.

Head full of hair!

I have been told that heartburn and growing hair go hand in hand. Well... she should have a head full. This week has been the week of unending heartburn. I never thought PB and J or Cheerios would cause it, but oh yes, water can cause it as well. I will gladly suffer for my little one, but she better have some hair. I was bald until I was 3. I hope she has plenty.
She is quite the kicker as well. She kicks off and on all day long. It is so much fun. Well that is our week in a nut shell.

26 weeks

We have made it to 26 weeks. I can't believe we are in double digits. 98 days to go. WOW. Ok, how are we...
I am feeling great. It is getting a little difficult going up and down the stairs, but I am making it. I am sleeping through the night, and other than picking things up off the floor, I can still do everything.
Now the important question... How is our little girl? She is wonderful. She wakes up about 5:30 every morning and jumps around for about 30min. then back to sleep for a few hours. Then around lunch she is back up again kicking and jumping.
It is really funny, if I put the laptop on my lap, she will kick it over and over until I move it.
I have not really had any cravings, but I cannot stand fresh herbs. I am drinking about a gallon of water a day and could use more.
That is just a quick update. I have football to watch. I'll post more later.

Thanks for making the shirt mom. I love it.

Auburn

Warning-long post

This weekend Jason and I went to Auburn for the opening weekend of SEC football. Jason has been looking forward to this weekend since December. We left after work on Friday and drove to Birmingham to stayed the night. It was a great idea, because it would break up the drive and I would get to sleep in a little. Wow were we wrong. About 1am The Church of the Almighty God (that was the name on the bus) checked in and the girls were on our floor. They slammed doors and yelled in the hall until 4 am. I finally decided to get up and get a bite to eat. The Lobby was full of kids playing on the computer and watching TV. So we got up about 6:30 and checked out. I called my mom around 8:30 and thanked her for being a responsible adult when I was younger and making us be quite and sleep on school and church trips.

Ok, so I shook it off and was really ready for the day. We headed to Auburn for a great day of Tailgating. It was so much fun. We were within 100ft of so many of Jason's friends. We spent most of the day with Hunter and his wife. We had BBQ sandwiches and hung out. We were also able to see Ashley (Owen) Ondreski's parents. We had not seen them since her wedding last October. Then we spent some time with John and his wife Ashley. It rained a little off and on, but the weather was wonderful.
After a great day with friends, we headed to the stadium. We found our seats and as we sat down, the rain came down. But I had my raincoat, so I was ready. It rained until the beginning of the game and it was great weather from then on.
To be honest, the game was not pretty, I didn't know if we would pull it out or not, but I had a great time. It was my first time in the stadium and I loved it. The baby was so funny. Every time the announcer would talk or the crowd would get loud she would jump all over the place. it was so fun. She and I had a great time.
I took it easy most of the game and felt really good, but Jason decided I was tired and we needed to leave during the third quarter. So we began the walk back to the car. I am so glad he made us leave, because I began to really feel it on the walk back. I really was tired.
We made our way to the car and then over to his friend Craig's place. He has a restaurant / sports bar down the street. We ordered some food and were ready to watch the end of the game. After about 5 min, I told Jason to stay and watch the last 5 min, but I was going to the car. I went out and within seconds I was out.
I slept all the way to the hotel and until 6am. It was so nice to sleep in a quite place. The next morning we got up and went to church in Auburn and I met many of Jason's friends there as well. We went to lunch with the Goodman's, then I hit the bookstores and bought a few things for our little girl.
It was a great weekend. I look forward to going back soon.

Oh... and Jason and I celebrated 2 years this weekend!. Two years ago this weekend we met at church and married a year and 3 months later. In 3 months we will have a little girl. Wow, God does amazing things.
