Growing up

Wow have the past 5 1/2 weeks been crazy. We have seen McKenleigh change in so may ways. On the 18th we got our first coo. It was wonderful. Then on the 26th she laughed for the first time. She is changing so much every day. I look at the pictures we took just two weeks ago and I am looking at another child. She is about to outgrow her first clothes, and had already outgrown a few hats.

Today was a BIG day for McKenleigh and Mommy. She had her first bottle today. After church we came home and Jason sat down with the bottle. I had heard horror stories about trying a bottle, so I was worried and ready to cry if she fought it. Well boy was I wrong. It was so easy. She gave Jason a strange look at first, but then took right to it. It was wonderful, not one little protest. We are so blessed with such a good natured easy going little girl.

Greatgrandmother

Friday was a wonderful day. My Grandmother was able to come and meet McKenleigh for the first time. McKenleigh was so good, she even fell asleep in her arms. It was really special because it was 4 generations together, also we named her after my Grandmother's daughter Faith who died a few days after birth. It was a special day.

Katie Mosley Photography

Today we went to have McKenleigh's picture taken. I was worried, because last time we tried this at two weeks, it was the day we finally got her days and nights switched so she was not happy. It was a difficult day and then trying to take pictures didn't work so well. Our friend Ayesha came over to take some, and she really did a great job with a very fussy baby. Well, I prayed last night everything would god well, and God truly answered that one. Katie was great. We were able to feed her and rock her and it went wonderful. We changed her clothes, put her on her tummy and took pictures for three hours. McKenleigh was so good. I would have bought her a toy or ice cream if she was older I was so proud. Well I ate some ice cream for her so she can have it later. Thank you so much Katie. Here are a few pictures from today. If you are in the Nashville area and want her info just let me know. I will be glad to pass it on.

Bouncy Seat

What would we do without our bouncy seat? I think I would go crazy and McKenleigh would cry all day. We love the bouncy seat. She sometimes just sits in it and other times sleeps, but either way, she loves it. I put her in the bouncy seat when I take a shower and it works great. Who knew it would keep mom's sanity and McKenleigh so happy. Thank you Grandma Becky and Eddie for an AWESOME gift.

She fought sleep for over an hour. Look at those tired eyes. She didn't want to be held, but the bouncy kept her happy.

Finally fell asleep. It was late at night.

Church

Two weeks ago we took McKenleigh to church for the first time. She did so well. She slept the whole time in Daddy's arms. Everyone was so glad to see her. Then this weekend, we went to my parents for her first Sunday at their church. Their service is a little later, so she didn't make it through the whole service. She was wide awake and wanted to play. Jason took her to the nursery and laid her down and she just enjoyed Daddy time instead. She is starting to smile in response to someone talking to her. It is so fun to watch. She also just started to coo. She hasn't done it much, but it was wonderful to hear. I love it.
We are doing really well. She is sleeping about 3 hours at a time at night, wakes up for a diaper or to eat and goes right back to sleep. During the day she enjoys tummy time, she gets up on her elbows and looks around. She also enjoys her bouncy seat.(thanks Grandma Becky and Eddie) She still sleeps most of the day, but we are having a great time. I will post her bear picture soon. We can't believe our little girl is a month old. Wow time really flies.

3 weeks old

McKenleigh is 3 weeks old. I can't believe how much she has changed already. She is awake for longer periods of time and getting on a schedule. She is sleeping 2-3 hours at a time at night and I am so glad. My mom hasn't seen her in a week and couldn't believe how much she has grown. Do you see it?

Our little girl

It is hard to believe McKenleigh will be 3 weeks old Wednesday. Wow! It really does go fast. She really is a good baby. She is sleeping in her crib almost all night. She wakes every three hours for a feeding, but then back to sleep. For the first few nights, she had her days and nights mixed up, but then we got them straightened out. Christmas was wonderful. My family came down and we celebrated together. She slept most of the day. She was passed between everyone and got a few gifts. Jason surprised me with a new Coach purse for the symphony and a few other things, and I surprised Jason with Guitar Hero 3. McKenleigh got a few toys, a baby Bjorn, and a wonderful soft blanket. At her 2 week appointment she had passed her birth weight and now weighs 8lbs 7 oz and grew 2 1/2 inches. She is now 21 inches long. Wow!! 2 1/2 inches in 2 weeks. She is growing like a weed. We are loving every min and know we are truly blessed. Here are a few pictures for family.
