She's a roller

For a few weeks now, McKenleigh has been rolling from her tummy to her back, but could not quite get from her back to her tummy. Well not anymore. Yesterday afternoon after changing her diaper, I let lay there. She was happy, she was on the floor, so I sat and talked to her. Well, she started twisting and the over she went! Yeah! She is just getting so big.

12 weeks

Today McKenleigh is 12 weeks old. She may be growing up but she is still our little girl. We went to the mall this past weekend and a girl asked us why she was so small. She's baby that is how they come. No really she is just petite. She is good and healthy and I know she photographs larger than she is so you really can't tell, but she is my little girl.

Warning...long blog ahead... partly for grandparents and partly so I have it to remember. Pictures are at the bottom if you want to skip to the end.

In twelve weeks she has found her hands and really prefers to suck on either her fist or finger instead of the paci, but will take the paci sometimes. She has a frog blanket that she loves to chew on and is enjoying looking at her toys. We still have lots of tummy time, but now her favorite thing to do is stand up. We got out the exersaucer and she loves it. She really is to small for it, but I put blankets around her and she will stand and stare at her toys for at least 5 min. before she gets tired. She is even turning around and playing with the toys by swinging her arms. I love to watch it.
McKenleigh can now roll from her tummy to her back very easily. She has been sleeping on her tummy for over a month now( I know they say it is bad, but she sleeps better, so we do it) and Friday I heard her up so I went to check on her and she had rolled on to her back and was just looking around her crib smiling.
She can roll from her back to her side and she is very stable. If it were not for her arm, she would be rolling on to her tummy already. She loves her bath time and would stay in there all day if I let her. She likes to be in her baby wrap. I carry her in it in the afternoon to get a few things done around the house and she loves it.
For the past week she has dropped a feeding at night and now sleeps from 8 or 9 to about 3 then until 7or 8. It is wonderful. She is happier and mom is as well. She loves to kick her toys on her play mat and bouncer. She is always kicking her legs. I am not sure she is ever still if she is awake. She is a laugher and a talker, but with us as parents what do you expect.
We have a few nicknames for her and they are little bit, angel, turkey, wiggle worm, squirmy worm, monkey and I don't know where I got it from and it is really odd, but I call her budders. I know really odd, but I do.
She loves it when we play pat-a-cake, sing deep and wide and head, shoulders, knees and toes. We move her arms to the song and she just smiles. Another new favorite thing is to suck on anything she can get in her mouth. It is great. She use to not care at all about things, now she can't get enough. Well your reward for reading is a few pictures. I added a video a the bottom of the first time she played with the toys on her exersaucer. This one is for the grandparents.Enjoy.

Montana

Feb 21-27th we went to Big Sky, Montana. Yes we took McKenleigh and she did wonderful. She slept on all the flights and enjoyed her time out west. Jason was able to Ski and McKenleigh and I had some good bonding time. We went with our friend Ben from Nashville and met his Dad, step mom and James, a friend from college out there. It was a great week.

2 months

Feb. 19th McKenleigh was 2 months old. We flew to Montana on the 21st so I was busy getting packed so I did not update the blog. She is now talking and laughing all the time. She has rolled from her tummy to her back twice, but hopefully she will begin doing it more soon. Everyone that sees her says she is a little doll. They love her little face. She brings a smile to everyone.
McKenleigh loves her baths and is beginning to kick her leg while she is in her tub. She likes her bouncer still and now she is enjoying her play mat and her tummy time mat. She love to go outside and loves her wrap. I didn't think I would be big into "wearing " her, but she likes it so much, I have to do it.
