Kayak trip

Jason wanted to surprise me with a day doing something I enjoy, so we went Kayaking on the Harpeth River. I love being outdoor, walking, hiking, swimming and so on. I really enjoying kayaking, but have not been in a few years, and Jason has never been, so this was a trip we were both looking forward to.
Mom was nice enough to keep doodle bug for the day, and we were blessed with a great day together. What a nice birthday gift. A day (1/2 day trip we did in 2 1/2 hours) with my husband and out in the beautiful sun. Jason had a good time even though there was not a golf club involved. We look forward to going again.

June is keeping us busy

We have been busy the first part of June. Our church has had VBS and it has been fun, crazy, tiring and a wonderful blessing. What a wonderful group working so hard to teach these children about God. McKenleigh went this year, but really just spent the time playing. Hopefully next year she will enjoy the drama and singing a little more.

My mom and I also started a new business this summer and have really enjoyed the opportunity to work together. Here is one of the dresses she made. It is a reversible dress with bloomers and is $25. I love it!

We were able to take my grandmother to the Frist center, and enjoyed watching McKenleigh paint for the first time. We have a family membership, and they have a wonderful kids area upstairs, so we try to go often. This was the first time my mom and my grandmother had been, but watching McKenleigh was so much fun.

She is getting so big.
For my birthday and for Father's Day, we got a Wii, and Jason's mom gave me the Wii fit. We have had so much fun with it! McKenleigh has seen me do it a few times, and here she is trying it out.

Fall = Dr. Jones visit

This afternoon, after her first Popsicle, McKenleigh was playing on her slide and fell out of the window (see picture of slide below) She fell on her head, then rolled. I was worried about he neck, but within seconds of the fall she was running around and playing like nothing happened. Just to make Mommy sleep better, Jason called Uncle Adam and he came straight away to check her out. After the green light for him, they played in the back yard for a little while. (She had been playing in the sprinkler, that is why she is in a swim suit)

She leaned out of the window below and fell.

First Popsicle

It was a hot day today and perfect for a Popsicle, so we let McKenleigh have one. She enjoyed it at first, but then told us how cold it was and gave it back. We will see what she thinks of them again another time.

Visit to Grandma and Pop Pop's house

After Granny Becky's visit, Jason had a business trip, so we packed up and went to Kentucky! McKenleigh loves water of any kind so we spent quite a bit of time in the water. It was nice to see them and enjoy their back yard.

Playing with Uncle Adam

We had to call Uncle Adam to come over yesterday because McKenleigh decided to "jump" out the window. She was playing in the little house you see below and leaned to far out the window and fell on her head.
She was acting ok, but since we have a doctor for an Uncle, lets use him in times like these. Uncle Adam came straight over and checked out doodle bug and said she was good to go. So off they went to play some more in the backyard.

Thanks Uncle Adam!!

Granny Becky's Visit!

Jason's mom came up for the weekend and we had a great time. Friday night, we had Jennifer babysit and the three of us went to the Symphony. We have season tickets, and we were able to get another ticket for Becky to go with us. Her seat was close to us, and we had a lovely time.

Saturday morning we all got up and went to the park. We blew bubbles, played on the swing set and played in the grass. Granny Becky was so much fun. She run up and down the hill, held me on the swing and helped me pick flowers.

After the park, we went home and got ready for a nap.

After McKenleigh's nap, we got out the sprinkler and played outside. Granny Becky is so much fun!

After playing so hard, we cuddled on the sofa.

We had a wonderful weekend and we were so sad she had to leave. Granny Becky, we hope you will come back again soon!
