Christmas '08

We hope you all had a blessed holiday. McKenleigh had a wonderful time. She was a little overwhelmed by all the gifts and people, but we have a great time. We had Christmas parties, pictures memorable moments. We celebrated our family Christmas on Christmas Eve, then went to our church's Christmas Eve service. McKenleigh did well, but was ready to get down and play before it was over. She really like the candle lite part and was confused when they finally blew them out. After the service we jumped in the car and drove to my parents for Christmas with them. It was a wonderful Christmas.

Cruise

Pictures of our trip!

Celebrate!

This was a week of Celebrations and fun. Uncle Adam graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and we took a trip to Florida to be there.

Adam and Adrien the graduates!

McKenleigh was able to meet Grace, the biggest dog she has ever seen. They had a great time.

The celebration continued when Jason flew down on our 2nd anniversary. Adam wanted to go on a cruise for his graduation present, so we all went. We celebrated Graduation, Jason and my 2nd anniversary and McKenleigh's 1st Birthday. It was a great week.

Graduation

December 11th McKenleigh took her 2nd plane trip. This trip was a little different from the last one. When McKenleigh was 8 weeks old, we flew to Montana and it went perfect. She slept the whole time. It was an easy flight and no one knew a child was on the plane.

This trip was a little different. My parents, McKenleigh and I flew to Florida for my brothers graduation. She was almost a year old and it was 6:30 pm. (Her bed time is 7:30) We left for the airport with plenty of time, but due to a car accident, the traffic was terrible so a 25 min trip turned into an hour trip. We get to the airport, run through to security and make it to the gate. Once we boarded at 6:30, we got delayed because of weather, it was snowing/icing. They had to de-ice the plane and so we sat in the plane for an hour before we took off. I had brought some food and we were blessed to have a row to ourselves, so mom was on the isle and I was by the window. McKenleigh would climb on me and the climb over to grandma, the back to me then back to her. She continued to climb and play the entire flight. She did stop for a few minutes to look at a book with grandma, but that lasted maybe 2 min. She was really good and we were so proud of her, but it was a long 4 hours to keep a baby confined. We made it there safely and we were greeted by our favorite people - Uncle Adam, Adrian and her brother.

Birthday Party

Here is a few pictures from McKenleigh's 1st Birthday Party. Other than the fact that my dad was in surgery during the party, the day was a great day.

We rented a neighborhood clubhouse, invited some dear friends and had a great time celebrating the big dad. Pop Pop (my dad) we missed you, but we are so glad you are all better now.

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Jason,
Happy Anniversary! The past 2 years have been a wonderful blessing. As I look back, so much has happened and we have changed so much, but I am so thankful we have changed together. You are my best friend, and my partner for life. May you know how much you have changed my life. I look forward to all the adventures that lay ahead.

The Story of Us

Beware... Long post about Jason and my relationship

Three years and 3 months ago was my first Sunday at HH and the night I met Jason. We met after church on Sunday night and went to eat at J. Alexanders. We had a good dinner and he invited me to the new singles group forming at church. And since we both enjoy football, he invited me over to his place to watch football with some of his friends that weekend.
Over the next 7 months we had a great time. We watch football most Saturdays during football season and spent them on the golf course when football season was over. We formed a great friendship giving each other dating advice, trying to find dates for the other person, butting heads on ideas and opinions and helping each other move. (I helped him move and he watched me move) =)
Some of my favorite times during those 7 months were on the golf course. Jason is a member at NGAC and after one day on the course, I was ready to go back. I did not want to play, but walking the course and enjoying the day was great. We would walk 9 or 18 holes and talk about all kinds of topics. One day we were at #6 (you have to walk up a big hill to get to the tee box) so Jason left his bag at the bottom and I stayed with it. After hitting the ball he asked me to gab his bag and meet him on the green. Well, that is the day I became his caddy (by choice). I loved walking the course, but some day I felt lazy just walking, so I liked the workout i got carrying the clubs so i did it all the time.
We had formed such a good friendship, people began asking us if we were dating. We continually them we told them "no, we are just good friends",but they continued to ask and they asked so often that they ask me in front of the guy I was dating. That was real nice.
In April a friend of ours (UB) asked me why we did not date. She said we were so go together that we should think about it. I just laughed and told her I could date him, he was my friend and I just was not interested in him that way. Later that night I told him what UB said and we had a great laugh.
Three weeks later I am in the car driving to Kentucky with a friend to visit my parents and my phone rings. It is Jason, he had been thinking about what UB said and thought we should date. What?? You think we should date? I told him we needed to talk about it. I did not want to date because I did not want to mess up our friendship and 6 weeks later notbe on speaking terms. He disagreed. I told him we would talk about it when I got back from Ky. He said"we just talked about it, we are dating".
Two weeks later (May) we are getting out the car at the golf course, I begin our conversation with... "If this is going to go anywhere then you need to know__________", and we talked about it. Then he said,"Well, if this is going to go anywhere then, what are your feelings about______". And so the conversation went for 19 holes. As we walked up to the car to head home Jason says, "So I am going to ask you and there will be a ring, but when are we going to do this"?
In August, four months after we started dating Jason and I were on the 13th tee box at our club (we took a cart for 9 holes), it is a beautiful cliff looking out over coolsprings and he proposed. It was a wonderful moment and he pared he hole.
In December, four months after he proposed, I walked down the isle. I had always said, if I got married one day, I wanted to marry my bestfriend. Three years and three months ago when I walked into HH, I had no idea I was walking into my church home and meeting my bestfriend and loving husband, but God had a special plan.
We have been married for 2 years and it has been a blessed 2 years.

Dr. Jones

Last night my little brother walk across the stage and ended his 24th year of school. Last night my little brother became Dr. Adam Jones. It was a blessing to be part of such a special evening. He came to St. Augustine in August of '05 to begin a dual program of OT and PT, at the University of Saint Augustine, and 3 1/2 years later he and 6 other students (many more started, but only 7 continued) graduated with their DPT. He has worked hard even worked through a terrible hospital stay that got very scary, but he did it.
Adam we are so very proud of all your hard work and know you will succeed in this new journey. Congratulations also to Dr. Adrian Spencer who graduated with Adam. We love you and thank you for being such a good friend.

(I don't have access to my pictures, but I will try to post some soon)

For Uncle Adam

McKenleigh is not a fan of her "baby jail" and has learned how to get out very quickly. Uncle Adam is requesting some videos so here you go.

She is also quick up the stairs. At the very end she hands me a dime. She is really good at giving me everything she finds. It is really cute, but you don't realize how much is on your floor until you have a little one.

We are back

Ok, now we are back, after many weeks of no posts, I am ready to catch you all up. Tuesday after Da (Jason's Dad) was here for a visit, we ended up at the Doctors office and McKenleigh had her first and second ear infections. We made it 10 1/2 months without an ear infection and then she got hit with double ear infections. Poor little girl. I felt so bad, but she was in such a good mood, I didn't know she was sick. Well after a day of medicine her fever was gone and you would not have known she was ever sick.

Looks like a sick little girl to me. =)

After her ears got better, we moved her to the big bath tub. She has been taking a bath in a tub we place in the big tub, but she loved the rooom to move around and play.

Now she is all well and getting so big!

Visit with Da Continued

Ok, we are up to Friday afternoon. Jason came home early from work and we dressed McKenleigh up for Halloween and ran a few errands. Publix was having a special event and we went. Then we headed up to the Hill Center in Green Hills and did a little shopping and had dinner. It was a great evening and everyone loved seeing Raggedy McKenleigh

Saturday was a fun and busy day. I don't think I took a single picture. We played with Da and
Daddy and Saturday night we had friends over for dinner.

And our big news!!!! McKenleigh and had been taking one or two steps for a long time, but Saturday night she took 3 steps!! Da had his plate on the sofa and McKenleigh could see it so she walked over to it. BIG GIRL!!!

Da had to leave early Sunday morning, and we were sorry he had to go, but it was great to see him. We look forward to seeing him again soon.
One more BIG event... Sunday morning she cut TWO NEW TEETH!!! She got her two top front teeth. She now has four teeth. What a full weekend for our little girl.

Visit with Da

This past weekend Jason's Dad (David) came to visit. He flew in Thursday morning and was able to stay through Sunday morning. Jason's stepmom Dinah was spending time with friends in Phoenix, and was unable to come this time, but she sent her love. She also sent McKenleigh a bag full of goodies. A flashlight that Da and McKenleigh played with for the longest time. And a book about a monkey and a little stuffed monkey. McKenleigh enjoyed all the surprises.
Thursday McKenleigh played with her new flashlight,

read her new monkey book,

Played with Ella's doll house,
(He showed her the roof raised and all the toys hiding in there.)

Then read Moo, Baa, La La La

They both had so much fun.

Thursday night Jason came home from work and they took McKenleigh to dinner so I could go to my bible study and they had a blast. They went up to The Daily Dish, and I am not sure who had more fun, Da or McKenleigh. It was a wonderful day.

Friday, Da ran some errands while McKenleigh was waking up and having breakfast and then after I put her down for a nap, he stayed at the house so I could go to the gym. McKenleigh loves her bed, and had not fallen asleep when I left, so he listened to her play for almost an hour. I had told him how much she loved to play and how I would love to watch her, after listening to her, he wanted to watch her as well. So he bought me a wonderful gift...a video monitor!! I can't wait to get it. I will tell you more when it gets here. We ordered it on line- Thank you Da and Dinah.

After McKenleigh woke up Da had a big surprise for McKenleigh...
ELMO!!!

What a fun new toy.

What a busy 2 days and this is just the begining. I will post more soon.

Trunk or Treat

Sunday October 26th was Trunk or Treat at our church and we had a great time. We are 7th grade youth coaches, so we helped with a "trunk". Our theme was "night at the movies". We had a concession stand and a blow up screen and showed The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. We all had so much fun. The theater was empty for the first 30 min, then we started to fill up. After all the kids had their candy, they came and watched a movie. It was great. Here are some pictures of our night.
