UH OH!!!

Uh Oh #1

If you know us well, then you know the story of the "Unforgettable night out". Mom and I went to a local restaurant and well... we will never go back and I am skeptical of Styrofoam cups now. Here is a picture.

UH OH #2!
We enjoyed our time at Orange Beach, but on Wednesday evening, we had a BIG Uh Oh!!! McKenleigh kept climbing all week. She loves to climb, and I was trying to let her enjoy, but keep her safe at the same time. She had a favorite chair, and every time she climbed up in it, I would tell her to sit down, and she would. Well... Wednesday evening, she climbed and as I was telling her to sit down, she put her leg over the arm and lost her balance!! She toppled out of the chair and landed on her head on the tile floor. It was the worst THUD I have ever heard.
moments before she fell. I was telling her to sit down as I took this picture. She snuggled with mommy, snuggled with MeMaw and snuggled with her blanket (baba), but she was just not acting right. She calmed down, but was not back to the McKenleigh we know and love. Mom and I checked her eyes and she was responsive, but I was not comfortable. We gave her some water and I called Dr. Jones. (my brother) While on the phone with him, she threw up twice and he said to take her to the hospital. So off we went.
They were so nice to us at the hospital.

M's first trip to the ER and hopefully her last.

Trying to entertain, we found a glove and blew it up. She was acting a little better, but was very clingy and could not keep water down. Jason had been on a business trip and was planning to meet us at the condo Wednesday night, but instead, he was now on his was to the hospital. I know it was hard for him.
She had a CT scan (the worst moment as a mother to date! I had to wrap her up and hold her still while they did it. She was SCREAMING mommy the whole time. It broke my heart.) and they determined she had a skull fracture. Poor girl. They wanted to keep her overnight and watch her.

We didn't sleep much all night. All she wanted was to lay in our arms, and once she would fall asleep, they would come in to check on her. She finally fell asleep in MeMaw's lap Thursday morninig.Thankfully, about 18 hours after she fell, she was able to keep a little jello down, and they released us to go back to the condo. The doctor was so great. He lived closer to us that the hospital, so he gave us his number in case we had a problem and he would come to us. Fortunately, she was back to her busy self by Friday. Scary day, but blessed that it was nothing more.
