Beach Cont.

Quick video of McKenleigh's joy of sand.

July Cont.

For Christmas this year Jason and I gave my mom a trip to the beach, so July 14th Mom, McKenleigh and I hit the road. A friend of ours has a condo in orange beach, Al. and he let us use it for the week. Here are pictures of the condo We had an amazing week and Jason was able to come down for the end of the week and then Hunter, Jill and their daughter Riley (owners of the condo) came for a night. The condo was great. From the front door to the master bedroom was 30 steps, so McKenleigh crawled all over the place. She loved beach. She tasted the sand, smelled the sand and ate the sand. We had a great time. Thanks Hunter and Jill. Here are a few pictures.

Now for July

July was a wonderful month. July 1st McKenleigh had squash for the first time and still no funny faces when trying new food. She is just loving her new food. She is eating puffs and likes picking up a hand full and working them into her mouth.
She also found my earrings. I have worn them since the day she was born, and she has never noticed them, until now. I was working on dinner and she reached up and grabbed one. I was a little surprised, but just laughed. What a big girl.
Happy 4th of July. We went to Lipscomb for their celebration. It was the end of their lectureship. We met some friends there and had dinner and watched fireworks. I wondered how she would react to her first fireworks experience, especially since it was hours after her bedtime, but she just snuggled in to my chest and watched. We had a wonderful night.
She crawled up and down the row during the end of the lectureship.

watching the fireworks
July 9th McKenleigh decided to climb the stair and she is very good at it. She can climb up 3 stairs before I blink. She thinks it is so much fun. She will climb the stairs all day if I let her.

Next post will be the rest of July, Stay tuned...

Rewind

Now that school has started and summer is on it's way out the door, I thought I would rewind and revisit this wonderful and blessing filled summer.

June-
June started out with McKenleigh's first weekend away. Jason had a business trip the last week of May so I went up to my parents for a few days, then came home to spend a weekend just the two of us. She stayed Fri-Sun. The trip went well, Mom, Dad and Adam enjoyed having her. It was a trial run for the next weekend. ( we had a big trip planned and I needed a weekend only being an hour away before we left on bigger trip) It went well. I missed her, but it was nice to have some time together. Our trip to the Biltmore went wonderful, and it was McKenleigh's 2nd long weekend away. She loved it.
June 19th McKenleigh had her 6 month birthday and and it was a big day here. She stood up in her crib for the first time. I new it was coming, but it was so fun to walk in and see her smiling face looking back at me.
We had a 1/2 birthday party and she had cereal for the first time. She knew just what to do and ate it up. Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Adam came over and we had a good time.

Then on the 25th we started Veggies for the first time. Yummy carrots.

Looks like we may have a clean eater. That would be nice.
Then on the 29th, we went to church for fireworks and homemade ice cream. I was not going to let her have any, but I caved and gave her a taste. She was in hog heaven. She didn't make it to the fireworks, it was bed time, but she had a good time.
June was a busy, but great month.

Overwhelmed!!

I started this blog to keep Jason's parents updated on the happenings in our life. It was fun and silly. Then McKenleigh came along and I really wanted to keep it up for family and friends, but also for me to look back at.
Well here came the stress. I have not blogged in a month and I really haven't blogged all summer. We have been so busy and I missed a blog, then 2 then 6 , then I was so far behind, I hated to sit down and type, because I would never be able to get up.
I am quite overwhelmed with the task ahead, but if I do not start, it will only get worse. So stay tuned, as I begin to recap the summer. Oh and here is a picture just for fun.

Getting so BIG

The end of June brought so many changes. She went to the pool for the first time. The water was a little cold, but we had fun.

She is pulling up on everything. She pulls up on the bouncer and chews on it, or pulls up on the couch and walks down the side. She is only 6 months old what does she think she is doing!

We went to the golf course with daddy and she had fun watching him, but would crawl all the way across the green just to get to his head cover.

My daddy is putting in the background.

I am so big, I am sitting up in my tub now, and I love my bath toys.

Waiting for Daddy to come home from work.

I went to my first wedding and had a really good time. Here I am with the mother of the groom.

My girls are so cute with their stuffed animals. ( Yes she does wear clothes, she had just eaten and gotten food on them, we were about to change clothes.)

I still love my little toy corner.

I just love this picture of her in shorts. It is so cute. Is she really big enough to be wearing shorts?

That was or fun and crazy end of June.
